General Arrangment
The M/V AQUASINO is of all welded aluminum construction of the catamaran design with raked stem and rounded transom stern with a capacity of 600 passengers on three (3) enclosed decks.The main deck is flush with offices rest rooms crew service areas and machinery spaces located one deck below in each pontoon. There are void spaces below the pontoon deck over the forward two-thirds of each pontoon. Machinery spaces are all the way aft.
Spaces Below The Main Deck
Each pontoon hull is divided into six (6) main watertight subdivisions by five (5) transverse watertight bulkheads. The lower voids are further subdivided to form thirteen (13) watertight spaces.Forward is the forepeak tank followed next by three (3) major below deck voids accessed through flush watertight hatches in the pontoon deck.Compartment # 5 in each pontoon is the engine room and compartment # 6 is the generator room with steering gears.The port side pontoon features a pump room aft the forepeak followed next by offices port and starboard sides of a centerline longitudinal corridor with the Co2 room located outboard in watertight compartment # 3.Likewise watertight compartment # 4 contains a long corridor with mens and ladies restrooms outboard the port with offices and a break room inboard with the electrical switch gear room all the way aft outboard.Watertight door enters the upper engine room with access outboard aft of the engine room to the weathertight deck with entrance to the generator room inboard of the transom.The starboard pontoon features a void forward behind the void compartment behind the forepeak with the next aft being storage room accessed from the main deck with the # 2 watertight space being the HVAC equipment room including chillers and through-hull fittings to service the units.Compartment # 3 has a long longitudinal corridor with offices both sides with the elevator shaft being inboard a large walk in cooler next aft just ahead the inboard surveillance room. Outboard is found an office with toilet facilities and security break room next aft outboard.A watertight centerline door enters the upper engine room which like the port side is exited outboard and aft to the weathertight deck with the generator room entered from the weather deck inboard side aft.
Superstructure
The main deck has the main casino forward with ladderwells that access the lower deck and the O1 deck found outboard port and starboard sides. The room features longitudinal banks of slot machines outboard with a cashiers cage forward and gaming tables in the center of the space. A small beverage service bar is found forward on the port side. Located here are eight (8) gaming tables and eighty-one (81) slot machines.Just above and outboard this space is found an enclosed walk-around for crew use to access the anchor windlass and bow equipment.Next aft the forward casino is found mens and ladies restrooms with double doors opening to the vestibule port and starboard sides. In the vestibule are large embarkation doors port and starboard side.Next aft through port and starboard double doors is the large aft main deck casino with beverage service bar found forward on the centerline with the elevator just to starboard of the bar. This is a large open deck with gaming tables about the space and perimeter slot machines. The cashiers cage is found aft to starboard. Located here are thirteen (13) gaming tables including two roulette and two dice tables. There are sixty-four (64) slot machines.Aft port and starboard doors lead to the fan tail deck with engine room escape hatches found port and starboard sides and generator room entrances found at the stern. Also found here is the rescue boat suspended in davits.The 01 level is fully enclosed and accessed by a midships stairways from the main vestibule.Forward of midships is found the VIP lounge with upholstered couches and chairs about the space for approximately one hundred fifty (150) persons. Next aft is mens and womens restrooms on the centerline just aft of the bar.Aft of the stair tower on the 01 deck is found the dining room which features a curtained service are forward with the service elevator opening into both the galley and the stair tower foyer.A large horseshoe shaped buffet line is located on the centerline with the remainder of the space being fitted with tables and chairs for dining including upholstered benches down the port and starboard sides. All the way aft on the port side is found the galley with dish washing equipment. The O2 deck has a small open observation area all the way forward followed by the fully enclosed sports bar and poker room with five (5) gaming tables to port and large beverage service bar aft to port. There is a flat screen TV forward to port. Walls appear to be metallic-painted aluminum panels with black carpeting accented by stars. The ceiling is of the drop panel type with metalmica. Some have a raised panel pattern.Next aft is found the stair tower and elevator service to this deck with dual elevator exits; one for service to the two (2) beverage bars on this level and the other for handicap access to the stair tower.Next aft through opening double doors on the starboard side is found the large aft observation lounge with life boat stations down port and starboard sides. At the forward portion and to port is found a large beverage service/snack bar.With the exception of the bar service area the entire observation deck is open above with indoor/outdoor carpeting finding painted steel deck in front of the bar and perimeter three (3) tiered stanchion railing. A fabric canopy is stretched over aluminum frames with plastic portable tables and chairs about the open deck..The O3 level contains the pilothouse all the way forward with open bridge wings and an open passenger observation deck over the aft portion.The pilothouse is enclosed and climate controlled and entered through weathertight doors port and starboard sides with a navigation console found at the centerline forward.Bridge wing controls are found port and starboard sides.The observation deck has perimeter railings indoor/outdoor carpeting with air handler trunks on the centerline.An arch supporting the aft lights and mast is found aft on this deck level.
Security
A surveillance room is found at midships on the starboard pontoon deck. Monitors and VCRs record activity in all of the public areas via overhead directional cameras concealed in tinted lexan eyeballs. The dining room is not currently fitted with cameras.
Navigation Station And Equipment
Forward on the third deck is the pilothouse containing all necessary navigational aides helm control with throttle and clutch controls. The pilothouse was found to be large and well laid-out clean and well maintained. The vessel carries navigational equipment satisfactory for its intended service. A list of this equipment is as follows:1 - Furuno Model: 1941 MK-2 radar1 - Furuno Model: FR-8111 radar1 - Furuno Model: FCV-667 sounder1 - Furuno Model: GP-500 MK-2 GPS2 - Icom Model: IC-M126DSC VHF transceivers1 - Standard Horizon LH10 hailer1 - Robertson AP-9-MK-3 autopilot1 - Dirigo 6 magnetic compass1 - EPIRB Category I Class 2Necessary charts books and tables for the local area were found aboard.There are seven (7) large forward facing windows the five center windows are fitted with electric wipers. Each bridge wing is fitted with engine throttle and clutching controls. The visibility is considered good for the vessel operator from the bridge wings. Access to the pilothouse is through port and starboard weathertight doors.
Machinery and Machinery Spaces
Propulsion is provided by four (4) Detroit Diesel Model: 16V 92 marine diesel engines providing power through Twin Disc reverse/reduction gears of 2:1 ratio to four bladed 48 diameter by 34 fixed pitch propellers on 4 stainless steel shafts. The engines are heat exchanger cooled.The engines reportedly provide 600 HP each. They are so arranged so as to have two (2) in each pontoon engine room.The vessel is currently fitted with two (2) Westmar 150 HP hydraulic fixed pitch bow thrusters one (1) tunnel in each pontoon. The system is currently out of service with no bow thrusters currently provided.Steering gear is by Jastram hydraulic double ram rudder control on four (4) individual rudders two (2) each pontoon.
Electrical Power
Ships electric power is provided by four (4) Marathon 320 KW 480V generators with Cummins NTA 855 G3 marine diesel engines as prime movers. Shore power capability is also fitted.
Auxiliary Equipment
Air conditioning is by two (2) Carrier Model: 30HR-160-E-260 units by salt water cooled chillers rated at 160 tons each.The vessel is fitted with U.S. Coast Guard approved marine sanitation devices to small non-integral void sewage storage tanks with pump out capability.Oil/water separators are by Marine Environmental Technologies filter type units rated at 40 GPH.Mooring equipment including bitts cleats chocks etc. were found to be sufficient and well placed for maximum advantage. A 2000# Navy lightweight type deep set anchor was found at the bow with dedicated stud link chain of 600.A McElroy windlass with vertical capstan is fitted. McElroy vertical capstans are fitted aft.
Life Saving Equipment
The vessel is fitted with 15 buoyant apparatus for 330 persons with ownership reporting 640 adult life jackets aboard. Child life jackets are not required for gaming vessels that do not allow minors aboard.Additionally a rigid hull inflateable rescue boat outboard-powered is hung in davits at the stern and life rings as required by the certificate are hung about the vessel in convenient external locations.An EPIRB is carried aboard.
Fire Fighting Equipment
Fire fighting equipment includes 200 lbs. of Co2 capability for each engine room and 150 lbs. of fixed Co2 capability for each generator room.A Pittnam notifier fire detection system is found aboard and fire stations are energized by Aurora 25 HP electric centrifugal self-priming pump with a 5 HP bilge pump providing back up.
Galley
The galley is located midships on the second deck providing service for foods pre-prepared ashore via a double buffet counter on the centerline of the dining room. This area features tile floor and metalmica drop panel ceilings. Separation from the dining area is by fabric curtains and contains the following food service equipment:5- Cres Cor portable double warming ovens1- Randell two door reach in cooler4- Randell mod. [removed phone] built-in steam table unitsThe enclosed galley is found aft to port on the 01 level containing the following equipment: Frymasters Vulcan range with Ansel hood Vulcan warming ovens Delfield freezer & Randell double reach-in coolers Champion dishwasher with Insinkerator mod SS300 disposalPerimeter stainless steel prep tables and rinsing tablesThis area has drop panel overheads painted sheet aluminum bulkheads and poured concrete floor.A large walk-in storage cooler is found at midships on the starboard pontoon deck opposite the elevator access.
